Pediatric Unit at Chicago Heights

Franciscan St. James Health recognizes the importance of providing community pediatric inpatient care that is accessible and convenient for families. That's why we've developed The Children's Corner Pediatric Unit. Dedicated to family-centered care, the brightly-decorated unit features a family kitchen and family room with a state-of-the-art entertainment oasis. 

The hospital's medical staff includes cardiologists, neurologists, endocrinologists, general surgeons and orthopedic surgeons who are all skilled in treating pediatric patients.

Nurses who are specialized in pediatrics offer another added benefit. The nursing staff is experienced and trained to handle the unique needs of children, as well as skilled at providing education to the entire family. 

The Franciscan St. James Emergency Center at the Chicago Heights campus has been recognized by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Illinois Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) program for providing the resources and capabilities to address the emergency needs of critically ill and injured children.
