Lullaby Birthplace

At Franciscan St. James Health, we know that the birth of your baby is an exciting moment that you will cherish always. We want your experience to be the first of many wonderful memories. That's why Franciscan St. James created the Lullaby Birthplace at the Chicago Heights campus, a safe and caring environment for you and your baby.

Our private Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Post-Partum rooms have been specifically designed to make labor, birth and recovery most comfortable for the mother and her new baby. Some rooms are private suites with a whirlpool, and all include a television and reclining chair for dad.

A pediatrician is available around the clock and in-house anesthesiologists along with certified registered nurse anesthetists are available at all times to provide advanced pain control. 

With a Level II intensive care nursery with extended capabilities, Franciscan St. James is equipped to treat infants who need advanced medical attention. On-call neonatologists, as well as support services such as laboratory, respiratory and x-ray, are available 24 hours a day. A centralized fetal monitoring system allows your physician to monitor your baby's heart rate during labor from his or her office or home.
